Early Career Edit

Starting to Race Edit

Kahne started his career as a racer back in 2002, when he began the "mini races" driving the #51 car. When he started in stock car racing, his car number was #98.

Starting NASCAR Edit

When Kahne first entered NASCAR, his car number was #88. Not long after, Kahne took the #9 Dodge spot after Bill Elliot. Now racing for Dodge, Kasey raced in the Dodge Charger. After many races for Dodge, Kahne had a talk with Dale Earnhardt, Jr., which gave the impression that Kahne would be racing for Budweiser near the end of the season, as Junior had signed a contract for Hendrick Motorsports, but Budweiser would not go with him, along with his No. 8 Chevrolet. Now racing for Budweiser, Kahne was in his top racing stage. Not long after, Kahne started his own sponsor, Kasey Kahne Racing, which took a spot on the #9 car for a while. After racing for Kasey Kahne Racing, Kasey was changed to the #5 Chevrolet SS.
